About the Community: Situated in the heart of the Monterey Bay area in the lush Pajaro Valley, Watsonville lies 95 miles south of San Francisco at the southern end of Santa Cruz County. Watsonville is a rich agricultural community (the Pajaro Valley is one of the world's largest agricultural centers) famous for its strawberries, apples, and cut flowers, and for its ethnic diversity. Visitors and locals enjoy exploring nature’s beauty in the dozens of community parks, a stroll on Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk, the nearly 3 dozen wineries, and historic Main Street/Downtown.
Compensation: Physicians are independent contractors and are given base rates with the opportunity to earn productivity pay at specific sites. VEP provides independent contractors with flexible schedules, and paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage. Physicians also enjoy the benefit of becoming a shareholder after 150 hours worked which allows them to be actively involved in the governance of the company. Shareholders have the option of participating in VEP's 401(k) plan and short-term & long-term disability plans.
